Privacy Policy

You can browse Rooted without an account. This policy explains what we collect when you sign in or submit something.

What we collect

• Account details: your email address and display name when you sign in.
• Saved businesses: the listings you favorite. These are private to you; we only use totals to show what's popular.
• Submissions: business listings, creator profiles, books, photos and covers you send for review.
• Reviews: your star rating and comments.
• Verification requests: business and owner details plus the documents you upload.
• Assistant chats: messages you send to the AI Business Assistant, kept so you can see your conversation.
• Ask Rooted AI: chat history is saved in this browser, not your account. Anyone using the same browser can see those chats. You can rename or delete them using Chat history. Messages are sent to our AI provider to answer your questions.
• Chat safeguards: we temporarily keep a hashed, daily-changing network identifier and request counts to limit automated use and protect the site's chat allowance. We do not keep your raw network address in this chat-limit record.
• Location: only if you choose to share it for nearby search; it is not stored.

Who can see it

• Approved listings, creator profiles and reviews are public.
• Anything awaiting review, and verification documents, can be seen only by you and Rooted administrators.
• Your account favorites and account assistant chats are private to your account. Ask Rooted history is local to your browser; avoid sensitive information on a shared device.
• We do not sell your personal information.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to host the site, store files, run sign-in, show maps and power the AI assistant. Assistant messages are sent to an AI provider to generate replies.

Your choices

You can remove favorites and clear assistant chats at any time. To access, correct or delete your information or account, email rootedcommunity@yahoo.com or send a request. Residents of some states, including California, have additional rights, and we honor those requests.

Children

Rooted is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date above shows the latest version.
